Sunset Behind Laguna

Photographer's note:

When we arrived at this vantage point, we were the only beach-goers that walked up the coast this far. It was a picture-perfect spot and was even better that we were all alone and able to set up our gear without worry. Once the sun set, we noticed the waves were getting our tripod legs wet now, which wasn't happening earlier... the tide had come in. We decided we needed to leave ASAP to avoid beind stranded all night. There was no exit above us, the only way out was down the rocky coast back the way we came. On the way out the tide was much higher than expected and required wading knee deep through the crashing waves. After jumping across the reef, fighting the waves, and keeping our gear safe we finally made it back, completely soaked, freezing cold, and shoes ruined, but the images and memories that were left were some of the scariest and most memorable.
