A classic, unexpected desert sunset. This was taken on the way home from California one evening. Just after crossing the AZ state line near Quartzite, AZ, I pulled off for a few mintues to take a break and grab a soda before finishing the few hours home. While standing along the freeway on-ramp I took out my camera and tripod and snapped just a few pictures towards the setting sun. In the moment I wasn't too impressed and didn't think anything of it. When I got home and started editing the picture, I realized the potential it had. I love the way it came out, with the deep oranges and purples in the sky and the road which looks like it's just driving into the distance.
