The Whitetank Mountains are the nearest range to my house, only about 15 minutes to the west. I grew up hiking in these mountains and see them every day while driving around. They aren't the most stunning mountains, more like desert hills, with their row of antenna towers on top. In February of 2019, we had one of the most powerful winter storms I've ever seen, which is what brought snow to most of the surrounding area. These mountains being only about 1000 feet tall, always get left out of the storm and only see rain. When I checked the radar and saw a tiny dot of blue, not green, on the peak, I had to go see for myself. I rushed outside, made the short drive to the park and was greeted with a mountain covered in... clouds. The antennas were not visable at all, and there wasn't snow anywhere. Realizing how rare this was, I waited for a while just hoping the clouds would break before the snow melted. Luckily, for about a 4 minute window, the towers became visable and they were coated in a beautiful layer of white. By the next morning the snow was gone and never to be seen again.
