When I was first getting into photography and trying to learn techniques and skills, I watched a bunch of YouTube videos regarding such aspects. One of the videos I learned a ton from was shot at this location along the East River. It talked about long exposures in photography and used these old pylons as a subject against the city lights of downtown. I loved how the photographer used the ugly, deserted, posts and turned them into a great image. That was one of my first "wow" moments which got me thinking and dreaming, "one day, I'll stand in that same spot and finally do it myself". When in Brooklyn I honestly forgot about this location, but while walking back to the subway station after dark, we walked right past them and I immediately recognized them and stopped for a few mintues to take it in and finally get my own version.
